When individuals file for bankruptcy, they hope that many of their obligations will be canceled. In some cases, these canceled obligations include various debt payments.

However, a number of obligations are not able to be canceled. According to Louisiana law, the obligations that cannot typically be canceled include alimony, taxes, student loans, certain fines, and certain other debts.
